What is the best semi-pro DSLR to purchase?

I am an amateur photographer - photography has always been a huge passion and many people have said I have a real eye for it and have been told to take it up professionally.

Therefore I am wanting to get into semi-professional to professional photography.

I want to upgrade my camera within the next 2 months and am wanting a decent one that will help migrate into becoming a professional photographer.

I am also looking at doing a photography course.

MY question is - what is the best SLR out in today's market that you would recommend for me to buy?

Do you know of any great correspondence courses also to help me enhance my knowledge of photography?

I look forward to receiving your reply.

Pro-sumer Digital SLRs
by: Digital SLR Guide

I'd recommend that you take a look at one of the many digital SLR cameras available for advanced amateurs, also called "prosumers".

These cameras have plenty of features and can be used for professional photography but don't have the incredibly high prices of true "pro" cameras.

Some pro-sumer digital SLRs include: the Canon 40D (or 50D), the Nikon D90, the Olympus E-3 or the Pentax K-7.

If you think that you'll want to get into a lot of flash photography, then take a close look at the Nikon D90. Nikon has one of the most versatile flash systems of any manufacturer.

As far as photography courses go, I offer my own set of lessons which are available online...and I'm available to answer any specific questions you may have.

Another great site for photography instruction is BetterPhoto.com.
