Best SLR For Portraits

What camera would you suggest if I wanted to make 8x10 pics of my daughter, some close up some of her whole body. I enter my daughter in photogentic contests and I thought I would try taking the pics instead of dropping a couple hundred here and there. I am looking for a camera that takes high quality looking pics. Since she moves a lot, I need a camera that won't make the pics looked blurred.
